December 21, 2018 Commented Hello Steven, We are happy to hear that the problem sorted out, however based on what you are telling us it may be possible that there is a bug in the e2 Studio project upgrade plugin in the latest e2 Studio versions. To help out other potential users, we would like to forward this to the Renesas e2 Studio team to have them fix this, in case it turns out it is an issue indeed. May we ask you to upload your original 6.0 project on our site so we can use it to reproduce and address the problems you have encountered? Please open the original project in e2 Studio 6.0, remove potential sensitive data, leaving the default edid eeprom content sending on uart, then from the File menu choose Export → Archive File to obtain a ZIP file with all relevant e2 Studio project files. Finally, please send us that file so we can analyze it.

Because individual controllers use slightly different code generation, please give full details about the controller family you are working on. We already reported this issue you have found directly to them, expecting it therefore to be fixed for e2studio 7.1. To further expand what and where to report: our team handles the GCC compiler, the GDB debugger and also library related topics. Renesas offers e2 Studio with all its related features: eclipse GUI, code generator, project generation, etc. While there are a lot of overlapping areas, such as the bug you have found with the top of RAM used up by GCC for pseudo registers, in this case we could easily rule if your statement was right or wrong. However, since the project generation is maintained by Renesas, unfortunately we have no direct access to it. We realized your claim was an overlapping area, so we identified the problem and its potential solutions, to try and be helpful and provide you with a valuable service. May 22, 2018 Commented Hello, Please see this link for UART sample project: https://www.renesas.com/en-eu/software/D3018027.html Please see this link for ADC sample project: https://www.renesas.com/en-us/software/D6001238.html Both projects are for CC-RL compiler, unfortunately there is no project converter in e2studio from CC-RL to GCC projects. The suggested way is to make screenshots in Code Generator to see the individual settings for ADC and UART. Then create a new project for GCC and reproduce the setup in Code generator for both ADC and UART. After generating the code, with a merge tool identify the missing code between your project and application notes to cross merge changes. Finally add your own functionality, for example the message format of UART messages which report ADC values, and you are good to go. Different licensing models apply to each, depending on the use-cases (you can find more details in their respective end-user license agreements).
